Steel roof re-painting to remedy cut edge corrosion and delamination

Specification:Planned refurbishment to the unit housing the busy Halfords store in Darlington revealed that the existing PVC coated steel roof sheets had reached their “re-paint decision time” and were exhibiting classic cut edge corrosion to the sheet ends and overlaps together with age related delamination of the factory applied coating.
The original steel sheets themselves were in good condition. It was only the protective coating that needed replacing and since the busy store could not be closed for prolonged repairs, the project management team at CBRE chose to recoat the roof with DELCOTE®, a solution which offered negligible site disruption whilst providing complete weather and corrosion resistance for decades to come.
Qualifed applicator D. Evans Ltd frst treated the roof to SEAMSIL®, preventing further corrosion to the critical lap joints and other areas of cut edges and fixings followed by DELCOTE® silicone coating, applied to a fnish colour of Slate Grey.
